Frequently Asked Questions
-
Between is a private pay practice.
We are happy to give you what is needed to check your benefits with your health insurance company.
We can also provide super-bills to submit to your insurance company. Whether you are reimbursed depends on your particular benefits and deductibles.

As private pay providers, we’ve chosen to work outside the limitations of insurance so we can offer the best care.
Instead of brief, narrowly defined protocols, we have more room to use the most effective, research-supported treatment models.
Instead of being controlled by a third party, we are able to offer care that’s focused, collaborative, and deeply personalized.
Working outside of insurance allows us to pursue advanced training, work with a smaller caseload, and spend more time preparing for your sessions. We have more time to collaborate with other providers (with permission), and ensure that we are always working toward your growth and change.
Additionally, your therapy stays between us. Private pay means there's no diagnosis on your medical record, and no risk of personal information being shared with insurance companies.

There are a lot of therapists out there, and it can be hard to know how to choose. At Between, we stand out in these areas:
Everything about us says “welcome.” Whether its booking with a Client Intake Coordinator who really cares, to housing our therapy practice in a cozy 100 year old home, to therapists prepared to offer inclusive care, to a high emphasis on deeply relational care.
We go beyond traditional talk therapy. While listening and reflecting are integral parts of the process, our work is deeply rooted in evidence-based methodologies and the principles of neuroscience. By focusing on both relationships and brain-based approaches, we help clients transform the ways they connect with themselves and others, fostering lasting change.
We are deeply committed to our own professional and personal growth. Each therapist brings specialized expertise to their areas of focus and has invested in their own therapy to provide a grounded, safe space for clients.

Between offers both in-person and online therapy sessions. We want to make sessions as accessible and comfortable as possible. All in-person sessions are at 104 East Simpson Street in charming Old Town Lafayette. We will meet you in the waiting room, and appointments will be held in private, comfortable therapy offices.

First, please fill out this form to request a call from our Client Intake Coordinator.
You can ask them to call, text, or email you. They will help you decide which therapist is best for you, answer any questions, and get you scheduled.
If you know which therapist you want to see, you have the option of scheduling directly on their bio page.

For counseling to be effective it does require a commitment of both time and finances. An important question to ask is whether or not you can afford to delay getting you or your family the help they need.
We can help to make this possible in a couple of ways.
We are able to take credit/debit cards as well as Health Savings Account cards.
We can also provide what is needed to get insurance reimbursement for out-of-network mental health services.
