In your relationship are you...

  • Feeling disconnected from your spouse or partner?

  • Constantly stuck in the same argument again and again?

  • Finding yourself isolated and alone, even though you have a spouse/partner?

  • Unable to reach your partner, even though you have tried everything?

  • Feeling like you never get it right with your spouse/partner?

  • In the aftermath of a betrayal?

  • Finding that life with your partner feels dull and uninteresting?

  • Feeling like you don’t even really know what a healthy relationship looks like or wondering if that even exists?

  • Wondering how you the person you love the most is starting to feel like a stranger?

  • Exhausted by all the fighting?

  • No longer able to picture a future with your partner?

Windows Side by Side Couples Therapy

When relationships are going well, they are a valuable source of comfort and joy.

But many of us experience conflict and disconnection from our significant other, leaving us feeling isolated and unhappy. With advanced training in couple’s therapy and marriage counseling, we help by…

• Providing a safe place where the same argument can have a different outcome.

• Ensuring that both partners feel seen and understood by the therapist.

• Making sense of the chaos created by fighting, helping you find a shared narrative about your relationship.

• Building a connection that helps you feel loved, cared for, and safe with your partner.

•  Changing the way you communicate so that your significant other can hear you.

•  Healing betrayals or past wounds that get in the way of closeness.

•  Creating a relationship that you actually want to be a part of again.

We work from a model of therapy called Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT).

It was developed by Sue Johnson and is by far the most researched model of couple’s therapy. EFT relies heavily on well established models of attachment and brain based research. If you would like to know more about EFT you can go to iceeft.com or read Hold Me Tight, Love Sense, and Attachment Theory in Practice, all written by Sue Johnson.
