Individual, Teen, Child, Family, and Couples Therapists

The therapists at Between Psychotherapy all share a love for connection and personal growth.

We offer a safe environment for clients of all backgrounds, identities, and beliefs, and see the beauty in all people.

You can trust that the therapists at Between are highly trained in their area of expertise, ethical, and committed to their own personal growth. We all carry an attachment lens, and are trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT and EFIT), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), and/or Synergetic Play Therapy.

“I have found that very little impacts us as much as our ability to form and maintain close and satisfying relationships. My joy as a therapist is to bring both my humanity and my expertise to help shift the way my clients are able to love and be loved by their significant others. To be part of that process has been one of the greatest joys of my life.”

Elizabeth brings warmth, humor, and vulnerability into the therapy room, recognizing how challenging it can be to pursue a different relationship with our loved ones and with ourselves.   She is committed to her clients feeling safe, supported, and cared for as they navigate change and healing.  In addition to earning a certification in EFT, she is extensively trained in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), an attachment based, emotion- focused model of change.  She works with couples, adults, and families.

Outside of the therapy room, Elizabeth thoroughly enjoys being outdoors, but has been limited in her ability to hike and run since contracting long-covid in 2020.  She devours books, is obsessed with old homes, and loves filling her home with people. She moved with her family of 5 to Colorado from  the southeast in 2013.  She has been married for 19 years, and has personally experienced the beauty and pain of a long-term commitment to someone you love.

“Are you hurting, perhaps going in circles —in your mind, heart, or in conflict with your loved one(s)— thinking, “this can’t be all there is for me/us”?

I’ve been there, and… I promise, it’s not. There is more, there is different, there is “lighter,” and the understanding and connection you crave is within reach. But there’s no need to take my word for it. With encouragement, empathy, humor, and an attachment lens, I'm here to help you experience this growth for yourself.

We'll work with emotion to chip away at what’s got you stuck, to access vulnerability, and to move toward authenticity and connection at a pace that feels safe for you. We will build a foundation of security essential to weathering whatever lies ahead.

Whole new levels of self-compassion and growth opened to me when I learned how attachment influenced my own emotional world, and I am passionate about helping others unlock the same.”

Elise has an MA in counseling (focused on systemic, relational therapy) from CU Denver, trained for a year at Evergreen Psychotherapy Attachment Training Center, and is working toward EFT certification. She has a rare ability to connect with and attune with her clients, making her a safe and very talented therapist. She works with couples, adult, and high-school aged clients.

She lives with her fiancé and her two quirky cats, and enjoys connecting with nature, working out, and finding ways to nourish her creativity.

“Getting to know someone in a deep, meaningful way is my greatest passion in life. My own journeys with learning disabilities, ADHD, depression, and anxiety provide me with insight and empathy. They help me honor what has allowed you to cope and find positivity in your life.”

In a therapeutic relationship, Alex brings curiosity, honest reflection, and connection. Whatever pain or changes you may be facing, or whatever growth you wish to see in yourself, Alex is here to listen without judgment, to strive to understand, to question, to grow alongside you, and to explore new perspectives with you.

Alex is a rare and wonderful combination of humor and challenge, play and connection. He cares deeply about people.

Alex works part time at Between, seeing individuals 10 and older. For his younger clients, his fee includes parent/guardian support as needed. Outside of Between, he works part time as an elementary school counselor in the Denver Public School system.

Alex has been working with children and adolescents for over ten years as a teacher, coach, mentor, and counselor. His free time is often spent exercising, playing sports, reading, playing games (video, board, any), or enjoying his chosen family and friends.

Gina Crites

“I believe our relational experiences significantly impact our health and wellbeing, including the therapeutic relationship. When we feel less alone in our experiences of pain and distress, we can more easily connect to ourselves and others in a way that supports individual and collective health. Within a safe space, and through an attuned relationship with ourselves and others, we all have the power to tune into our instinct towards healing.”

Gina is passionate about walking beside her clients, undoing their aloneness, and has a strong sense of justice, advocating with passion for her clients. She works with families, couples, and individual adults, teens, and children.

With an early career in occupational therapy, Gina is especially equipped to support neurodivergent individuals, couples, and families, as well as those navigating issues around disability and chronic illness. She has a unique understanding of sensory integration and processing and deeply respects each person’s unique history and individual differences. She, herself, understands the challenges faced by those living in the neuro-minority through her lived experience of being neurodivergent. Because of her diverse training and background, she can move easily between deep therapeutic work, parent coaching, and individual skills training, making her an unusually versatile therapist. Gina moves with openness and curiosity in engaging with clients about their personal experience of neurodiversity, understanding that it is different for each person and family.

Gina is sensory informed, neurodivergent affirming, LGBTQ+ allied, culturally sensitive and attachment focused therapist who strongly believes in the transformational process of making sense of our experiences in the context of relationships where we feel deeply seen, heard, and understood.

“The wild urges of sorrow shape us into sturdy souls.”
